Abstract
dc:description.abstract"Objectives of the study: The final attention of this study has been directed toward determining whether factors which affect per unit costs of a given machine affect machinery investment and consequently, machinery costs in general. This type of information is needed in planning the internal organization of a farm business. The specific objectives of this study were: 1. To determine the average replacement cost of various machines used by farmers in Northeast Missouri. 2. To determine what machines farmers in this area have and to what extent they use various machines. 3. To determine the average present investment in machinery by various size and organizational characteristics of farms in this area. 4. To determine, if possible, organizational patterns which suggest reduced machinery costs and increased profit levels."--Page 10.
