Por medio de un sondeo de opinión entre docentes de enseñanza primaria y secundaria, pública y privada de Montevideo, se logra dibujar aquí una imagen, según la cual queda en evidencia que, al igual que en la calle, las formas voseantes (vos tenés, tú tenés) son hoy las más usadas en las aulas montevideanas. El tuteo estándar prácticamente no existe en el lenguaje hablado, como tampoco existen políticas lingüísticas específicas que valoren más el uso de unas formas frente a otras. ABSTRACT: This paper investigates the forms of treatment used for the second person singular informal (tú vs. vos) within the school system in Montevideo, Uruguay. It reports the results of a survey conducted among elementary and high school teachers, both in the private and public sectors, to document the status of voseo within the classroom. While there are no specific linguistic policies determining the forms to be used in the classroom, the survey results show that nowadays the voseo form is generally accepted in Montevideo classrooms.
