To add to the pressure of meeting all of the students' needs and being successful on high-stakes tests, the growth in the number of English Language Learners (ELLs) in the regular classroom has grown tremendously over the last several years. Research on teachers' attitudes in working with this population was reviebecause teachers' attitudes have an effect on the quality of the education ELLs receive. Evidence based strategies to help teachers with ELL instruction were also reviewed. The qualitative research of this project was based on teachers' experiences in the K-5 language arts setting.
