The present work aims to investigate different definitions and mechanisms pertaining to the concept of interface through philosophy, media archaeology and disability and critical studies to structure a critical taxonomy of the computer interface. The grand set computer interfaces constitute has been divided in three main ontological classes, each associated with a strong norm that defines all other categories in the same class.
