Pour cela, la thèse se concentre particulièrement sur les discours et les stratégies élaborés par les colons exilés se trouvant en France et, surtout, aux États-Unis. Sur la base de cette orientation, il s’agit de montrer comment la réflexion critique que les colons ont opéré́ autour le relance du système coloniale n’a pas été seulement centrée sur la reconquête de leurs plantations, mais il a aussi envisagé́ le concept de République entre France et Etats-Unis.
