Abstract
dc:description.abstractIn view of the upcoming transformation within the automotive industry and also in view of increasing globalization and rapidly changing markets as well as new technologies in the field of electromobility, good cooperation between supplier and customer is becoming increasingly important. The emerging spare parts business for driving-related components for electric vehicles offers companies the opportunity to set themselves apart from other market competitors through a high level of service. Since the qualitative orientation along the supply chain up to the supply of spare parts is determined by customer expectations, supplier development is a good way to meet the identified requirements. A major challenge is that there is no solid basis for supplier development with specific content and elements. This presents high risks regarding the operational capability and the optimization of the performance of the suppliers. As a result, there is a need to research content and elements on which there is a development of suppliers of driving-related components for electric vehicles in the spare parts business of the automotive industry. With the help of a qualitative research approach, a systematic content analysis in the area of supplier development is carried out. The evaluation is based on a Mayring process model, so that individual content and elements can first be identified and categorized and consequently form a model. The guideline-based expert interviews based on this provide insights from the perspective of supplier practice and additionally verify the individual contents and elements of the developed model. Implications and recommendations for management for the development of suppliers of driving-relevant components for electric vehicles in the spare parts business of the automotive industry can be derived from this.
