With the standard categories of form, harmony, counterpoint, rhythm and melody as a general frame of reference, each composition will be examined in its own terms. In this way it is hoped to form a general impression of the composer's style and method. Each analysis will be preceded by a brief commentary which will include relevant information concerning the composition, publication and nature of the work in question. The work-list is taken from an article on Duruflé by Gwilyrn Beechey in The Music Review issue of May 1971. House style follows that of the Royal Musical Association.","abstract_html":"This study approaches the organ compositions of Maurice Duruflé from an analytical point of view.
