It explains a shift in my ontological and epistemological approach to inquiry following a group supervision session. I examine how an epiphany took me in a different direction to my original intended research topic. Using personal archival documents, reflections and vignettes as educational aids I embark on a journey of contemplation using the lens of adult education. I will consider how adult education gave me the tools to examine my fractured life as an adopted adult and the possibilities for authentic connections.","abstract_html":"This thesis explores an adopted adult’s search for authenticity using autoethnography as a methodology.
