Firstly a description of the test scores for each of the four papers comprised in the above mentioned exam, namely the papers in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, was done. For each paper a frequency distribution and a corresponding frequency polygon together with measures of central tendency and standard deviation are given. Then item analysis of each paper was done so that each item in every paper was assessed through their facility and discrimination indices. Also, for each paper, the reliability coefficient is given. Subsequently an analysis or errors of all those items in the four papers with an index of discrimination of 0.20 or below was done. Sex differences were investigated to see who achieved better taking the boys and girls sitting for this session of the exam separately. A U- test was done here. Lastly correlational studies between the various subjects in the \"Special Science Exam\" was done and then of the four subjects in the exam with English Language. Another study taking the \"Special Science Exam\" as predicator and the G.C.E Summer 1980 results as criterion was done.","abstract_html":"This study probes deep in the 1978 session of the 11 Special Examination in Science and Maths for Form III.
