In view of the findings made by Farrugia (Under Canvas, Unpublished Thesis, 1999), it transpires that such a programme would be well appreciated by the school's authorities, the children and their parents. The first part of this study includes an analysis of three interviews that were conducted with people who represent those sectors of society that are fundamental to the implementation of such a programme. The second part of the study looks at progressive program planning in relation to our Maltese natural environment. This helps to identify different outdoor activities that can be organized in Malta and be developed in different stages through an accurately studied progress. The programme will ultimately lead to a camp in which all the activities are practiced in a natural environment.","abstract_html":"The object of this study aims to prepare a five year programme of Outdoor Activities for Secondary Schools.
