Using an interactive technological approach in the teaching of child development in Home Economics
Abstract
dc:description.abstractIn this dissertation, we will be identifying the different aspects of child development within the age group of 0-3years. This will cover the physical, social and emotional needs of children as identified in the MATSEC and Education Division syllabi. The pedagogical methods Home Economics teachers are presently using to disseminate this area of the syllabus will be examined, as well as the students' feedback on the present methodology used. An interactive software on the area of child development will be developed for Home Economics students based on fieldwork conducted amongst; Maltese and Gozitan families, childcare centres and Child Institutions. This software will be trialed with a group of Home Economics students.
