Qualitative data was obtained by telephone interviews to parents (N=12) in order to gain better understanding. Parents’ perceptions of the subject mainly focused on cooking and nutrition, while other positive results were indicated, such as eating habits which were improved. The social well-being attribute shed light upon what was found in questionnaires, as positive results were also shown.","abstract_html":"“The enjoyment of the highest attainable standard of health is one of the fundamental rights of every human being.” (World Health Organisation, 1946, as cited in WHO, 2009) Being inspired by this, the researcher investigated the impact of Home Economics on male State secondary school students in Malta and Gozo and that of their families, and focused on nutrition and social wellbeing.
