Northern Polytechnic

An examination of some experimental methods of comparing intensities of spectrum lines

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

Several methods of comparing intensities of spectrum lines are described, using photographic plates, photomultipliers and photo-resistive cells as the measuring instruments. The performance of each of these detectors was assessed by using them, in turn, to determine the intensity ratios of the components of a particular mercury triplet.
