The influence of N, P, K, lime and other factors affecting the growth of container-grown freesia : A thesis submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Horticultural Science in the University of Canterbury [Lincoln College]

The objective of this study was to complete a definitive study of the nutritional requirements of freesias grown in containers with emphasis on the following: 1. The effect of nitrogen (N), phosphorus (P) potassium (K) and lime (Ca - as dolomite and agricultural lime) on the growth and flowering of tetraploid freesias. 2. The effect of magnesium (Mg) on growth. 3. The influence of density and shade on freesia development. 4. The effect of the hormone kinetin. 5. Growth and flowering as affected by seed strain.
