The objective of this research was to implement the 5S methodology as a Lean Manufacturing tool in the roller production area of an SME, with a focus on optimizing the use of human resources and equipment, as well as improving workflow. The initial diagnostic phase included the use of an Ishikawa diagram to identify the main causes of low productivity. The implementation process began with the use of red tags during the Sorting (Seiri) phase and progressed through to the final Discipline (Shitsuke) phase. The implementation was validated through the use of Arena simulation software. The results revealed an increase in labor productivity from 0.6 to 0.8 and a 33.3% improvement in meeting the production plan, demonstrating the effectiveness of this methodology in achieving sustainable improvements.","abstract_html":"A considerable number of small businesses place little importance and attention on the continuous improvement of production processes, which negatively affects their productivity and competitiveness in the market.
