Caso de estudio: desarrollo del planeamiento estratégico de la empresa familiar Grúas y Maniobras S.A.C.

The history of family-owned businesses is often woven with threads of tenacity, long-term vision, and the ability to adapt to the changing challenges they face nowadays, especially in recent years when the country experienced its greatest challenge: the pandemic and political uncertainty. In this research paper, we explore the case of Grúas y Maniobras, a family-owned business that has demonstrated its ability to reinvent itself and thrive in a dynamic and often challenging business environment. Grúas y Maniobras was born in 2003 in Lima, but the experience of its founders comes from many years before. This company is dedicated to offer the rental service of high tonnage cranes, special or oversized transport and lifting engineering. Likewise, the complete integral crane and rigging service has been defined as the combination of the 3 services and adding the assembly to this package. On the other hand, they also have the industrial logistics service, offering suitable spaces to store machinery, equipment, or containers to their customers in the 3 facilities they have throughout the city. This study focuses on the analysis of the business strategy of the family-owned business Grúas y Maniobras, highlighting how the company has planned and executed its expansion and adaptation during adverse conditions. The environment in which the company operates was explored and determined to propose different strategies, as well as to describe how they should be implemented and controlled. Additionally, it is expected that the strategies analyzed, and this case study will serve as a reference for decision making in the following year, thus contributing to the growth it has been experiencing.
