Relación entre el uso problemático de las redes sociales y la ansiedad en adolescentes de 11 a 17 años de edad: revisión aplicada

In recent years, the use of social networks has been increasing, becoming a normal daily activity. However, the excessive time spent on social networks could affect adolescents in different aspects. The aim of this review report is to identify the results of the research found on the relationship between the problematic use of social networks and anxiety in adolescents, performing a systematic search following the guidelines of the PRISMA guide (Page, et al., 2020). The databases consulted were Scopus and Web of Science and 11 articles met the inclusion and exclusion criteria. As a result, it was found that there is a significant positive correlation between problematic use of social networks and anxiety in adolescents. It is recommended that parents and teachers pay attention to the problematic use of the Internet to access social networks, to prevent the different disorders or health problems that could be triggered in adolescents.
