Depresión perinatal y vínculo madre-bebé

The high reported rates of depression during pregnancy and postpartum alert about the need to understand the relation between perinatal depression and the impact on the mother-infant bond, through a review applied to the studies that relate these variables. A search was carried out following the guidelines of the PRISMA guide (Urrútia and Bonfill, 2010), consulting the following electronic databases: APA PsycNet, Psicodoc, Scopus, ProQuest, Scielo, Springer Psychology and ScienceDirect and the quantitative studies that were selected for the analysis evaluated perinatal depression and the motherinfant bond. The results show that perinatal depression has a negative impact on the mother-infant bond and on the child's social-emotional development. Most of the investigations used the Edinburgh Postpartum Questionnaire (EPDS) to measure depression, while a greater variety of instruments were found to evaluate the motherinfant bond. In conclusion, there is a relationship between perinatal depression and the mother-infant bond. In addition, the consulted research indicates that the mother-infant bond is equally affected when depression manifests in the prenatal and/or postpartum stage.
