Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis pre-feasibility study covers the general aspects, market research, analysis of the location, plant size and engineering of a project related to the creation of company, located in the province of Arequipa, that installs photovoltaic systems at residential houses. The project proposal arises in response to factors in the Peruvian energy market such as growing energy demand, increasing in electricity generation from renewable sources and the vast solar radiation in Arequipa, a resource has not been exploited to its true potential The market study was limited by a lack of specific historical records related to the photovoltaic solar panel market and the difficulties to obtain information about solar energy consumption patterns of the target market. In addition, currently, the conditions of electrical infrastructure and the high amount of investment required have a negative effect on the intention and intensity of purchase. Despite this, a demand for 4,064 photovoltaic installations was estimated. To mention the plant location analysis, aspects such as the proximity of the raw material, the target market, the climate, the availability and cost of land, local inhabitants´ higher education were taken into account, which resulted in the selection from Cerro Colorado district, in the department of Arequipa, as a location for the installation of the plant. Regarding to plant size, technology and material availability do not represent a restriction in this analysis and therefore the market size ratio is the determining factor to establish the optimal plant size. On the other hand, after considering efficiency levels in the installation process and the time dedicated exclusively to do it, it was determined that the project capacity is 917 photovoltaic installations. In relation to the financial and economic assessment, the project requires a total investment of S/ 765.086 of which almost 64% is investment in tangible fixed assets. It is important to mention that 40% of the project will be financed by banks. The NPV is S/ 427.106 and the IRR is 34%. To complement, the is 4 years 11 months and 4 days. Finally, the accumulated value added of the project at present is S/3.353.546, which shows that it has a positive impact on society.
