En el Perú se producen diversos tipos de palta, entre ellas la palta hass. La palta hass tiene un tamaño inferior al de la palta fuerte, pero su calidad, sabor y tiempo de vida es superior. Se cultiva principalmente en la costa del Perú, destacando los departamentos de La Libertad y Lima. Para el cultivo, se requiere que el clima no sea helado. Además, debe buscarse un lugar donde no se puedan producir inundaciones ni estancamientos, ya que la excesiva humedad puede matar el cultivo (Palpex, 2011). El estudio busca conocer el mercado nacional de palta Hass, las variables que lo componen y su desarrollo.
