Contribution à l'application du règlement EMAS au sein du secteur assainissement de l'Intercommunale pour le Développement Economique Durable du Luxembourg belge

For some years the waste management sector of IDELUX has become aware of its liabilities as far as environment is concerned and is consenting many efforts to reduce the impact of its activities on environment. In this way, since 2001, they have progressively implemented an environmental management system according to the ISO 14001 norm on their different sites. The obligation, according to the operating permit of the new Tenneville technical landfill center of getting "EMAS" registration in june 2008 latest, is an opportunity for IDELUX of setting this system in its place for the whole waste management sector. Present work comes within the scope of a contribution to this approach for Tenneville site. After we have updated the environmental review and brought up to date the environmental policy the general and the specific objectives have been reviewed as well as the action plans. For this work we mainly concentrated on internal and external communications via consciousness-raising of personnel to EMAS approach and the writing of the environmental statement for Tenneville site. In order to monitor the evolution of the environmental performances new indicators have been developped. Lastly the amendments to bring to the general and operational procedures have been classified and a proposal concerning the making and the updating of the environmental statement has been written within the context of this end of study work.
