ReferMe- Improving Online Tools for Finding Suitable In-Person Psychotherapy Services
Abstract
dc:description.abstractWhen looking for psychotherapy services, persons can easily become overwhelmed by thenumber of professionals found on the internet. Given too many options without context or personalization, one can feel unsatisfied in their search, and discouraged to look further. Sites that help users find psychotherapists have poor filtering systems, making the list feel impersonal, not anticipating the scope of the user’s wants and needs. Through research, I will design an online platform that takes users through an onboarding process allowing an algorithm to present users with a personalized list of psychotherapists.
