The inspiration behind the piece comes from ones personal experience and reaction to the distractions of the modern world. Everywhere one goes there are endless distractions around, and the negative effects can be noticed with just a little observation. Excess television, obsessions with food, image, career, sports, drugs, money, being in a constant hurry, these are all just different flavors of the distractions that consume us.
