Abstract
dc:description.abstract
My YA novel, It's a Fine Line, is the first of a three-part series about three African American teens living in metro Atlanta. The speaker makes every effort within his power to maintain the friendship as they begin to embark on and pursue interests that seem to divide the relationship in their coming-of-age world. Throughout the final years of high school, conflicts take them through a series of events that allow each of them to face the traumatic and painful hidden secrets of their families and the community which ultimately reveal an unexpected connection they have with one another. These young men have never been completely transparent with one another about their backgrounds, and once they encounter situations that require each of them to evaluate their values and choose a path that ultimately will divide their time, they persevere to find their way back to the fine line of friendship.
