A two-part case study, comparing a building project and its required labor force from the early 1990s, with a theoretical project and its labor force in the year 2000, was used as the basis for this research. Cost analyses, labor supply, and available resources (equipment, tools, etc.) were analyzed for each project. The first part of the case study assessed the skilled and unskilled labor force necessary to complete a 1991 building addition project with the work force available at that time.
