Effects of intercropping berseem clover on a primary oat crop and succeeding corn yield
Abstract
dc:description.abstractSome farmers in Iowa are already incorporating berseem clover into their intercropped and rotational systems. However, in Iowa many farmers are still skeptical of using Berseem clover because of uncertainty of its economic benefits and because of lack of information and research about its cropping behavior. There is little information about N-contribution to succeeding crops by berseem, and its economic implications. It is hoped that information from this study may be useful in providing profitable and sustainable alternatives to those who are working with farming and cropping systems in Iowa.
