It aims to present an understanding of how dimensions of sexual self-concept can influence sexual risk taking behaviours. Recommendations are made for future research and clinical implications are discussed.Part two is an empirical paper exploring the relationship between sexual self-concept, stigma and shame following a Chlamydia diagnosis. People attending a sexual health clinic for the treatment of Chlamydia were approached to participate in the study. Quantitative data were collected using a cross sectional design.
