Abstract
dc:description.abstractThis thesis aims to become the first scholarly research document devoted to the life and work of Mexican postmodern composer Javier Alvarez. It contains the most detailed and up-to-date account of the composer’s biography and compositional style, along with a brief analysis of Metal of Hearts (Metal de corazones) one of his most recent works. The information presented is based on hundreds of primary source documents, an interview with the composer conducted over the course of three days, and academic sources only available in Spanish.
