It is this imperfect, nameless protagonist that makes the novel human, and prompts the audience to scrutinize what is occurring in our own world as the 21st century unfolds. The translation presented in this thesis is an attempt to capture both the charm and brutality of the source text. Following the main principles of translation, an effort was made to remain faithful to the soul of the Italian original, while implementing appropriate adjustments to render the text palatable in English.
