The homeland and travel behavior

Abstract

dc:description.abstract

This thesis aims to examine the travel behavior of my family and the importance of visiting their home country of Kosovo. The research discusses several types of tourism, such as roots tourism, heritage tourism, and travel behavior. One of the main goals of this dissertation is to get a better understanding of the importance of my family members to visit our homeland and their travel behaviors. After the data is reviewed, I will try to reflect on how much I relate to their answers. I decided to hold interviews with six relatives to achieve the set goal. The results showed that my hypothesis was wrong; it doesn't matter if one is a first or second-generation immigrant. The only thing that matters is where one family is, and there they feel the happiest. Key words: Root Tourism, Heritage Tourism, Travel Behavior, Kosovo, Iceland
