Besonderes Augenmerk wird dabei auf die Konstruktion eines Lasers mit erhöhter Repetitionsrate und der Entwicklung einer neuartigen, nichtresonanten Faser-Scan Technik gelegt. Der Erhöhung der Wiederholrate des Lasers soll dabei unerwünschte Nichtlinearitäten bei der Übertragung mittels einer Einmoden-Faser verringern. Durch den Einbau des nicht-resonanten Faser-Scanners in den Prototypen eines kopfgebundenen miniaturisierten Mikroskops wird dessen Eignung mittels fluoreszierender Proben demonstriert.
