Generalized Modified Weibull Poisson Distribution with Applications to Lifetime Data
Abstract
dc:description.abstract<p>In this thesis, a generalized modified Weibull distribution called the exponentiated modified Weibull Poisson (EMWP) distribution as well as related sub-distributions are proposed. Series expansion of the densities are obtained. Statistical properties of these classes of distributions, including hazard function, reverse hazard function, moments, quantile function, entropy and distribution of order statistics are derived. Method of maximum likelihood is used to estimate the parameters of the new distribution. Finally, a real data example is discussed to illustrate the usefulness and applicability of the distribution.</p>
