The pieces are abstractions of natural flowers and seedpods that stem from my experiences in South Georgia woods. These brightly colored ceramic works are a reflection of the joy and wonder that I receive from the natural world. Colors, textures and forms found in nature are the driving force behind my work; I feel that so many of these natural attributes are often ignored. By creating work based on nature I strive to inspire viewers to take a second glance at the phenomenal beauty that the natural world has to offer. If I can have viewers enjoy my work perhaps they can identify with a particular memory or experience that helps them appreciate some of the smallest yet most important aspects of our world.
