THE GLOBIN GENE SYSTEM IS ONE OF THE BEST STUDIED IN THIS DIRECTION. THE ANALYSIS OF TRANSCRIPTION AND RNA PROCESSING OF THE HUMAN EMBRYONIC E-GLOBIN GENE HAS BEEN STUDIED AND IS REPORTED IN THIS THESIS. WE ANALYZED TOTAL CELLULAR RNA FROM THE HUMAN HYBRID PUTKO CELL LINE AND FROM HELA CELLS TRANSIENTLY TRANSFECTED WITH THE E-GLOBIN GENE.
