Abstract
dc:descriptionTHE STUDY DEALS WITH THE DEVELOPMENT OF A NON LINEAR 2D FINITE ELEMENT MODEL FOR THE ANALYSIS OF REINFORCED CONCRETE UNDER MONOTONIC LOADING UNTIL FAILURE. THE MODEL IS EQUIPED WITH 2D SIMPLE TRIANGULAR FINITE ELEMENTS FOR THE CONCRETE, ONE- DIMENSIONAL ELEMENT FOR THE REINFORCEMENT AND SPECIAL LINKAGE ELEMENTS FORTHE REPRESENTATION OF BOND. THE MODEL INCLUDES ORIGINAL BIAXIAL NONLINEAR ISOTROPIC CONSTITUTIVE LAW FOR THE UNCRACKED CONCRETE, ORTHOTROPIC FOR THE CRACKED CONCRETE AND NONLINEAR RELATION BETWEEN BOND STRESSES AND THE RELATIVE (CONCRETE-STEEL) SLIP. THE MODEL IS CAPABLE OF REPRESENTING THE VARIOUS TYPES OF LOCAL DAMAGES OF REINFORCED CONCRETE UNTIL FAILURE. THE ABILITY OF THE ANALYTICAL MODEL IS PROVED BY SUCCESSFUL PARAMETRIC STUDIES OF VARIOUS REINFORCED CONCRETE STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS SUCH AS BEAMS, SHEAR WALLS, CORBELS, SLENDER AND SHORT COLUMNS ETC.
