THUS,IN THE FIRST STAGE THOROUGH INVESTIGATION IS MADE IN ORDER TO CHECK THE RELIABILITY OF THE VARIOUS FRAME MODELS FOR ISOLATED CORES OF DIFFERENT TYPES (OPEN, SEMI-OPEN CORES WITH LINTEL BEAMS, CLOSED SECTION CORES WITH SINGLE OR MULTI-COMPARTMENT) OF QUASI-STATIC SEISMIC LOADING (SYMMETRIC, PURE TORSIONAL AND ECCENTRIC). IN THE SECOND STAGE, A MIXED SPACE STRUCTURE IS INVESTIGATED WITH AN ECCENTRICALLY LOCATED MULTI-COMPARTMENT CORE UNDER HORIZONTAL LOADING. IN THIS CASE, THE OVERALL BEHAVIOUR OF THE STRUCTURE RESULTING FROM THE FRAME SIMULATION OF THE CORE IS STUDIED AND COMPARISONS ARE MADE BETWEEN THE SEVERAL ALTERNATIVE MODELS REGARDING THE DISPLACEMENTS AND FORCES OF THE MEMBERS OF THE COMPLEX STRUCTURE.
