Abstract
dc:descriptionTHE LINEAR CHANGES OCCURING IN PHOSPHATE-BONDED INVESTMENT MATERIALS DURING THEIR FREE AS WELL AS HYGROSCOPICAL SETTING ARE INVESTIGATED IN THE PRESENT EXPERIMENTAL WORK: TWO FACTORS NAMELY THE CONCENTRATION OF THE SPECIAL MIXING FLUID AND THE L/P RATIO WERE CONSIDERED. SIX CARBON FREE PHOSPHATE-BONDED INVESTMENT MATERIALS WERE STUDIED. THE SPECIAL MIXING FLUID CONCENTRATIONS USED WERE 100%, 80%, 60%, 30% AND 0% (P.V.) DILUTIONS BEING MADE WITH DISTILLED WATER. THE L/P RATIOS CONSIDERED WERE NORMAL (THE ONE RECOMMENDED BY THE MANUFACTURES), INCREASED AND DECREASED BY 10% IN FLUID. LINEAR CHANGE DETERMINATIONS WERE PERFORMED WITH A MICROMETER MICROSCOPE USING A 0.01 MM PRECISION SPECTACLE (LINEAR VERNIER MICROSCOPE BY GRIFFIN, DISTRIBUTED BY GALLEN KAMP AND CO. , LTD, LONDON, ENGLAND).
