Abstract
dc:descriptionHYDROLYSIS IS THE "HEART" OF THE TOTAL PROCESS AFFECTING EVERY NEXT STAGE, AND REQUIRING SPECIFIC AND HIGH COST PRETREATMENTS DURING THE PREVIOUS STEPS. FOR ASUCCESSFUL SOLUTION OF AN HYDROLYSIS, SYSTEM THE NUMBER OF POSSIBLE COMBINATION (CATALYST, REACTOR TYPE, EQUIPMENT, TEMPERATURE, PRESSURE, CONCENTRATION, FEMENTABILITY OF SUBSTRATE) IS HUGE. IN THIS THESIS IS PRESENTED AN EMPIRICAL, BUTORIGINAL, APPROACH OF METHODOLOGY AND AN HIERARCHICAL WAY OF SEQUENTIAL CHOICES IN ORDER TO LOCATE AN "OPTIMUM" SACCHARIFICATION SYSTEM. ACCORDING TO THIS ANALYSIS, THE HYDROLYZERS WITH ONE OR TWO MOVING PHASES, HAVE SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGES OVER THE OTHER ONES.
