Η συμβολή της ηλεκτρονικής τομογραφίας στη διαφοροδιάγνωση των βλαβών του ενδοκρανίου στην οξεία φάση των κρανιοεγκεφαλικών κακώσεων
Abstract
dc:description- The present study was planned in an attempt to possess a more specific experience regarding the ability of C.T. in investigating the intracranial lesions during the acute stage of head injuries. - In this study 235 cases of patients with intracranial lesions are included. - The basic technical data for the investigation of the intracranial structures and search for injuries with the C.T., during the acute stage of the head trauma, are described. The different ways and the specific indications of I.V. administration of contrast media for better dilineation of particularly isodense lesions, are also analysed. The description of pathogenesis and delineation by C.T. of each specific intracranial lesion, then follows. Our cases are presented in a specific table according to age-sex-main and secondary C.T. findings. Also, in other specific tables, our cases are cited (1) according to the localization of the different types of intracranial lesions and (2) according to the relations of age groups and sex with each type of lesion. In conclusion C.T. is a rapid and noninvasive of high accuracy method in investigating solitary or multiple intracranial lesions, in the acute stage of head injuries. It is also in ideal method in estimating the concomitant cerebral edema and the shift of midline structures, which are crucial as far as the severity of the injury and the clinical progress of the patient, are concerned. It is also a valuable follow-up method after surgical intervention or conservative treatment.
