FOR THIS PURPOSE SIXTEEN INBRED LINES OF DIFFERENT PEDIGREE AND THE SEVENTY FIVE SIMPLE HYBRIDS WHICH WERE DERIVED FROM CROSSES AMONG THEM WERE TESTED ON TRIALS IN TWO REGIONS. STARCH GEL ELECTROPHORESIS WAS USED TO DETERMINE THE DEGREE OF GENETICDISTANCE BY EXAMINING THE SIXTEEN INBRED LINES FOR TWENTY ONE ENZYME SYSTEMS REPRESENTING FORTY SEVEN LOCI.
