dc:descriptionTHIS THESIS PRESENTS THE IN-DEPTH STUDY AND THE EFFECTIVE CONTROL OF THE PROBLEM ARISING FROM DRYING SHRINKAGE HIGH VALUES DETECTED AT AUTOCLAVED CELLULAR CONCRETE (A.C.C.). FROM THE PROCESSING AND EVALUATION OF THE EXPERIMENTAL MEASUREMENTS THE FOLLOWING CONCLUSIONS HAVE BEEN REACHED: A. THERE IS A DIRECT CORRELATION BETWEEN THE DRYING SHRINKAGE VALUES AND THE PERCENTAGE OF 11A-TOBERMORITE AND AL-TOBERMORITE CONTENT IN A.C. C. B. ON THE BASIS OF MINERALOGICAL COMPOSITION AND MICROPORE SIZE DISTRIBUTION OF A.C.C., THE DRYING SHRINKAGE VALUES SHOULD BE WITHIN THE REALM OF PREDICTABILITY. A PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF THE STUDY HAS BEEN THE SUCCESSFUL UTILIZATION OF PTOLEMAIS FLY ASH IN THE DOMESTIC A.C.C. PRODUCTION.
