Ο ΡΟΛΟΣ ΤΟΥ ΧΡΟΝΟΥ ΕΦΑΡΜΟΓΗΣ ΤΟΥ ΠΡΟΑΓΩΓΟΥ ΠΑΡΑΓΟΝΤΑ ΣΤΗ ΧΗΜΙΚΗ ΔΙΦΑΣΙΚΗ ΚΑΡΚΙΝΟΓΕΝΕΣΗ ΤΟΥ ΒΛΕΝΝΟΓΟΝΟΥ ΤΟΥ ΣΤΟΜΑΤΟΣ. ΠΕΙΡΑΜΑΤΙΚΗ ΜΕΛΕΤΗ ΣΕ ΛΕΥΚΟΥΣ ΕΠΙΜΥΣ
Abstract
dc:descriptionONE HUNDRED W/F RATS WERE DIVIDED INTO SEVEN GROUPS. GROUP 1, 2 AND 3 ANIMALS RECEIVED EACH, TWO (ONCE A WEEK) INTRAPERITONEAL INJECTIONS OF CHEMICAL CARCINOGEN (NMU - 50MGR/KGBW). IN THESE ANIMALS ACUTE LIVER INJURY WAS INDUCED BY INJECTION OF D- GALACTOSAMINE (200 MGR/KGBW). CONTINUOUS CHRONIC, NON-SPECIFIC, MECHANICAL IRRITATION WAS APPLIED ON THE LEFT BUCCAL MUCOSA, 7 DAYS BEFORE (GROUP 1) THE FIRST INJECTION OF NMU, AS WELL AS 16 DAYS (GROUP 2) AND 80 DAYS (GROUP 3) AFTER THE CARCINOGENIC INJECTION. GROUPS 4,5,6,7 SERVED AS CONTROLS. ONLY GROUP 1 AND 2 ANIMALS DEVELOPED TUMORS IN THE IRRITATED BUCCAL MUCOSA. FROM THE RESULTS OF OUR STUDY WE CONCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: 1. THE MECHANICAL IRRITATION DOES NOT LEAD TO TUMOR FORMATION, BUT PROMOTES THE TUMOR DEVELOPMENT AND PREDETERMINES THE TUMOR LOCALIZATION. 2. NMU IS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING TUMORS IN AREAS OF THE BUCCAL MUCOSA WHERE ACTIVE CELL PROLIFERATION IS STIMULATED BY A CONTINUOUSMECHANICAL IRRITANT. 3. THE DELAY OF THE APPLICATION OF THE PROMOTER IN CHEMICALLY INDUCED CARCINOGENESIS DOES NOT LEAD TO TUMOR FORMATION. THIS COULD POSSIBLY BE EXPLAINED BY THE REPAIR OF THE CARCINOGENIC LESION IN CELLULAR LEVEL.
