Ιστοπαθολογικές αλλοιώσεις σε ποντίκια μετά από ενδοπεριτοναϊκή χορήγηση της γλυκολιποπρωτεΐνης (G.L.P.) του Slime της pseudomonas aeruginosa

Abstract

dc:description

The slime glycolipoprotein (slime-GLP) was extracted (by methods Sensakovic and Bartell 1974) from a non mucoid strain and a revertant non mucoid variant of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Alginate also was obtained from a mucoid strain of Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The histopathology of mice induce by a single intraperitoneal (ip) LD₅₀ dose of there substances was studied. Alginate non histopathological lesion was provoked in the internal organs of the experimental animals. Slime GLP exerted a marked effect on the lungs, liver and kidneys without any microscopic changes in other organs. The histopathological lesions consisted of thickening and pleomorphic inflammatory infiltration of the intraalveolar septal and focal atelectasis in the lung parenchyma, ballon degeneration, fatty change and confluent hepatocellular necrosis in the liver and hydropic degeneration and necrosis of the renal tubular epithelial cells in the kidneys. The kidney and liver lesions were accompanied by a parallel rise in serum levels of blood urea nitrogen and aspartate and alanine aminotransferases.
