Abstract
dc:descriptionTHE PROBLEM OF THE FLOW BEHAVIOUR OF OIL GANGLIA ARISES IN CONNECTION WITH OIL BANK FORMATION AND MAINTENANCE DURING ENHANCED OIL RECOVERY WITH IMMISCIBLE FLOODING. BANK FORMATION DEPENDS ON THE OUTCOME OF THE COMPETITION BETWEEN THE PROCESS OF OIL GANGLION DETERIORATION THROUGH BREAKUP AND STRANDING, ON THE ONE HAND, AND THE PROCESS OF OIL GANGLION COLLISION AND COALESCENCE, ON THE OTHER IF COMPUTER-AIDED SIMULATOR IS DEVELOPED, WHICH IS CAPABLE OF PREDICTING THE FATE OF OIL GANGLIA MOVING THROUGH WATER-WET CONSOLIDATED POROUS MEDIA. WITH THE HELP OF OUR SIMULATOR WE EXAMINE THE AVERAGE GANGLION-VELOCITY, THE RATES OF BREAKUP AND STRANDING OF SOLITARY GANGLIA AND ALSO THE PROBABILITY OF COLLISION-COALESCENCE BETWEEN PAIRS OF OIL GANGLIA, AS A FUNCTION OF CAPILLARY NUMBER, VISCOSITY RATIO, DYNAMIC CONTACT ANGLES AND GANGLION SIZE. WE ALSO STUDY THE ABOVE VARIABLES EXPERIMENTALLY. EXPERIMENTS WERE PERFORMED IN CHAMBER- AND-THROAT PLANAR NETWORKS. THE RESULTS ARE USED TO DRAW SOME CONCLUSIONS WITH REGARD TO THE CONDITIONS THAT FAVOR OIL BANK FORMATION AND PROPAGATION.
