THE B-GALACTOSIDASE IS COMPOSED OF TWO SUBUNITS WITH A MR OF 42.000 AND 33.000 RESPECTIVELY, IS ACIDIC IN NATURE (PI<5.7) AND ACTS OPTIMALLY AT PH 4.0.
