THE KINETIC OF THE MECHANISM OF THE ALUMINIUM IONS ELECTROCHEMICAL REDUCTION FROM THE MOLTEN ELECTROLYTES NACL-KCL- LICL AND NACL-KCL- LICL-LIF AT 450 C, CONTAINING ABOUT 10-4 MOL/CM3. ALCL3, WAS STUDIED ON SILVER AND PLATINUM ELECTRODES. FOR THIS PURPOSE THE METHODS OF LINEAR SWEEP VOLTAMMETRY, CHRONOPOTENTIOMETRYAND CHRONOAMPEROMETRY, AS WELL AS THE CONVOLUTIONAL ANALYSIS, WERE USED. MOREOVER A SIMPLE ANALYTICAL METHOD PERMITTING THE SOLUTION OF THE SYSTEM OF THE EQUATIONS WHICH DESCRIBE A REVERSIBLE, DIFFUSION CONTROLLED ELECTROCHEMICAL PROCESS, WAS DEVELOPED. PARTICULAR EMPHASIS WAS GIVEN TO THE DETERMINATION OF THE DIFFUSION COEFFICIENTS OF THE ELECTROACTIVE IONS IN THE ELECTROLYTIC MELTS AND TO THE STUDY OF THE INTERDIFFUSION PHENOMENA IN SOLID STATE, OF THE DEPOSITED METAL IN THE BULK OF THE WORKING ELECTRODE, TAKING INTO ACCOUNT THE PERTURBATIONS DUE TO THE MOVEMENT OF THE ELECTRODE/ELECTROLYTE INTERFACE, IN A TEMPERATURE RANGE FROM 370 C TO 520 C. THE VALUES OF THE ACTIVATION ENERGY OF THE DIFFUSION PHENOMENA WERE ALSO DETERMINED. FINALLY THE USE OF PULSE CURRENTS IN ORDER TO OBTAIN A UNIFORM AND NON DENDRITIC ALUMINIUM DEPOSIT, WAS STUDIED.
