ΜΕΛΕΤΗ ΤΗΣ ΟΡΥΚΤΟΛΟΓΙΑΣ, ΠΕΤΡΟΛΟΓΙΑΣ, ΓΕΩΧΗΜΕΙΑΣ ΚΑΙ ΤΩΝ ΦΑΙΝΟΜΕΝΩΝ ΜΕΤΑΜΟΡΦΩΣΕΩΣ ΒΑΣΙΚΩΝ ΚΑΙ ΥΠΕΡΒΑΣΙΚΩΝ ΠΕΤΡΩΜΑΤΩΝ ΤΗΣ ΠΕΡΙΡΟΔΟΠΙΚΗΣ ΖΩΝΗΣ ΣΤΗΝ ΠΕΡΙΟΧΗ ΤΗΣ ΘΡΑΚΗΣ
Abstract
dc:descriptionTHE MINERALOGICAL, PETROGRAPHICAL AND GEOCHEMICAL STUDY OF REPRESENTATIVE SAMPLES FROM ALL THE PETROLOGICAL TYPES OF THE BASIC AND ULTRABASIC ROCKS OF THE CIRCUM-RHODOPE BELT IN THE AREA OF THRACE PERMITTED SAME IMPICATIONS RELATED TO THEIR PETROGENESIS. THUS, THE GEOTECTONIC SETTING WAS A SYSTEM OF ISLAND ARE-MARGINAL BASIN. THE PRIMARY MAGMAS OF THE PROTOLITHS FORMED IN TWO STAGES OF DIFFERENT DEGREES OF PARTIAL MELTING OF THE HETEROGENESIS MANTLE WEDGE. THE MAGMA OF 15-20% PARTIAL MELTING, AFTER FRACTIONAL CRYSTALIZATION, DEVELOPED GABBROIC ANDVOLCANIC ROCKS, WHICH AFTER REGIONAL METAMORPHISM OF GREENSCHISTS FACIES FORMED METAGABBROS AND GREENSCHISTS. THE MAGMA OF 30% PARTIAL MELTING WAS OF BONINITIC TYPE. THIS MAGMA UNDERWENT RAPID, OPEN SYSTEM FRACTIONAL CRYSTALLIZATION ANDFINALLY FORMED MASSIVE AND PILLOW LAVAS. THE LAVAS AND THEIR RESPECTIVE PYROCLASTIC ROCKS RECRYSTALLIZED DURING OCEAN FLOOR METAMORPHISM OF LOW-VERY LOW GRADE. THE FLUID PHASE PLAYED IMPORTANT ROLE DURING METAMORPHISM.
