ΑΝΟΣΟΙΣΤΟΧΗΜΙΚΗ ΜΕΛΕΤΗ ΤΗΣ ΚΑΤΑΝΟΜΗΣ ΤΟΥ ΕΚΚΡΙΤΙΚΟΥ ΠΑΡΑΓΟΝΤΑ (SC) ΚΑΙ ΤΩΝ ΑΝΟΣΟΣΦΑΙΡΙΝΩΝ IGA, IGG, IGM ΣΕ ΝΕΟΠΛΑΣΜΑΤΙΚΕΣ ΚΑΙ ΜΗ ΝΕΟΠΛΑΣΜΑΤΙΚΕΣ ΠΑΘΗΣΕΙΣ ΤΟΥ ΜΑΣΤΟΥ
Abstract
dc:descriptionTHE OCCURENCE AND DISTRIBUTION OF SECRETORY COMPONENT, IGA, IGG AND IGM IN 200 BREAST BIOPSY SPECIMENS, INCLUDING 10 NORMAL BREAST TISSUES, 90 BENIGN LESIONS AND 100 PRIMARY CARCINOMAS, WERE STUDIED BY THE PEROXIDASE- ANTIPEROXIDASE (PAP) METHOD. THE FUNCTIONING SECRETORY IMMUNE SYSTEM WAS CONFIRMED IN ALL CASES OFNORMAL BREAST TISSUES AND IN THE MAJORITY OF THE BENIGN LESIONS. IN CASES OF EPITHELIAL HYPERPLASIA THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN THE PRESENCE OF SC AND IGA WAS INVERSELY PROPORTIONAL WITH THE DEGREE OF HYPERPLASIA. IN CARCINOMAS SC AND IGA WERE DEMONSTRATED BOTH IN THE CYTOPLASM OF THE TUMOR CELLS AND IN THE LUMINAL SECRETION. THEIR PRESENCE CORRELATED WITH THE DEGREE OF DIFFERENTIATION BUT WAS NOT RELATED TO TUMOR HISTOLOGY. STROMAL PLASMA CELLS IN WELL AND MODERATELY DIFFERENTIATED CARCINOMAS WERE FOUND TO BE PREDOMINANTLY OF THE IGA TYPE. IN CONTRAST IGG SECRETING PLASMA CELLS PREDOMINATED IN POORLY DIFFERENTIATED CARCINOMAS. THE CAUSE OF PREDOMINANCE OF IGA AND IGG PLASMA CELLS IN DIFFERENT TUMOR GROWTH PATTERNS IS PROBABLY SECONDARY TO TUMOR-HOST INTERACTION OR TO NON SPECIFIC INFLAMMATORY REACTION.
