Abstract
dc:descriptionUSING A SAMPLE OF 2360 MICROWAVE DISTANCE MEASUREMENTS AND RELATED METEOROLOGICAL MEASUREMENTS (PRESSURE, TEMPERATURE AND HUMIDITY), A STUDY WAS CARRIED OUT AIMING TO IMPROVE THE EOM ACCURACY. THE BASIC TOOL IS MULTIPLE LINEAR REGRESSION(STEPWISE METHOD) AND SEVERAL MODELS WERE EXAMINED. THE STANDARD INDEPENDENT VARIABLES OF THESE MODELS WERE THE ABOVE MENTIONED METEOROLOGICAL VARIABLES AND THE DISTANCE (GIVEN BY THE EOM INSTRUMENT). THE DEPENDENT VARIABLE WAS THE VARIATION OF REDUCED DUE REFRACTIVE INDEX DISTANCE MEASUREMENTS. THE DERIVED MODELSDO SHOW REMARKABLE ACCURACY, STABILITY AND PREDICTION CAPABILITIES. THE USE OFQUALITATIVE VARIABLES IMPROVE THE MODEL STRENGTHS RECOVERING IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT TIME AND POSITION. ALSO WITH THE HELP OF SOME MODELS THE INFLUENCE OF CLOUDS, WIND VELOCITY AND WIND DIRECTION IS PASSING INTO THEM FROM DETERMINISTIC POINT OF VIEW.
