ΜΕΛΕΤΗ ΤΗΣ ΚΑΤΑΝΟΜΗΣ ΥΔΡΟΓΟΝΟΥ ΣΕ ΛΕΠΤΑ ΥΜΕΝΙΑ ΔΥΟ ΣΤΡΩΜΑΤΩΝ ΔΙΑΦΟΡΕΤΙΚΩΝ ΜΕΤΑΛΛΩΝ
Abstract
dc:descriptionTHE RESONANCE AT E(15N)=6.39 MEV IN THE REACTION 1H(15N,ΑΓ)12C HAS BEEN EMPLOYED FOR THE DETERMINATION OF THE HYDROGEN DEPTH DISTRIBUTION IN SOME THIN FILMS OF METAL-HYDROGEN SYSTEMS ONTO A STAINLESS STEEL SUBSTRATE. THE INVESTIGATED FILMS WERE: THE SINGLE LAYER FILMS V-H AND TI-H AND THE THIN FILMS SANDWICHES (FILMS CONSISTING OF TWO THIN LAYERS OF DIFFERENT MATERIALS) TATI -H, TANB-H, NBTA-H AND TAV-H. THE PREPARATION OF THE SAMPLES BY MEANS OF UHV TECHNIQUE AND THEIRTREATMENT DURING THE LOADING PROCESS WITH HYDROGEN IS DESCRIBED. THE HYDROGEN TO METAL RATIOS IN THE TWO COMPONENTS OF EACH SANDWICH ARE QUANTITATIVE THE SAMPLES HAVE BEEN ANNEALED AT SEVERAL TEMPERATURES (IN THE RANGE BETWEEN 25 AND 400 C), AND AFTER COOLING DOWN TO ROOM TEMPERATURE THE PROFILE OF THE REMAINING HYDROGEN HAS BEEN MEASURED. THEORETICAL ANALYSIS OF THE YIELD DEDUCED FROM A RESONANCE REACTION IN THE CASES OF A SINGLE AND DOUBLE LAYER SAMPLE IS PRESENTED. AN EXPLANATION FOR THE HYDROGEN CONCENTRATION IN THE TWO LAYERS OF THE SANDWICHES BEFORE AND AFTER ANNEALING IS ATTEMPTED USING A SIMPLE STATISTICAL MODEL FORTHE CHEMICAL POTENTIAL OF H IN METALS.
